Visitor fees

If you wish to come to our WI to try out the WI experience before joining, there is £5 visitor fee. On the fourth visit, you will have to pay the appropriate subscription fee.

If you are currently a WI member and can produce a WI membership card, the visitor fee is £2.50. On the fourth visit, you will have to pay the Dual membership subcription fee.

Subscriptions

Everyone wishing to join WI in April to June (except visitors) pays the full fee:

£40 if joining in April to June 2023 (full membership year to March 2024)

Pro rata payments are applicable to those joining WI for first time:

£30 if joining in July to September 2023 (pro rata membership to March 2024)

£20 if joining in October to December 2023 (pro rata membership to March 2024)

£10 if joining in January to March 2024 (pro rata membership fee to March 2024)

Previous WI members who have had a break from WI wishing to re-join, please contact us for details of the appropriate subscription fee to pay.

Dual memberships: if you wish to join our WI as a dual member, please contact us for details of the appropriate subscription fee to pay.

The subscription paid by members is divided up as follows;

A portion is retained by the WI;

A portion is paid to the Federation;

A portion is paid to the National Federation of Women’s Institutes (NFWI)

Our WI

Our physical meetings normally consist of:

Sing Jerusalem and welcome from the President

Speaker or activity and diary dates

Refreshments, social time

minutes, financial report, news, information, notices, raffle

Close of meeting by the President

The order and content of these elements may change from meeting to meeting

Raffle tickets are 50p per ticket

Refreshments are 50p per person

WI members may bring guests, a visitor/guest rate applies (see above), a guest/visitor may attend a maximum of three meetings, on the fourth occasion they are required to pay the membership rate

The programme normally consists of 11 meetings across the subscription year of April to March. If we had to resume lockdown, we hope not but we will endeavour to organise the following: Monthly smile envelopes that contain a 4-side newsletter, a card, various and different surprises. Two zoom meetings a month : a themed evening on the second Monday followed by a chat n natter afternoon meeting normally on the fourth Wednesday (subject to change if circumstances dictate).

WIs in the Ely Federation have annual meetings in November each year when all members have the opportunity to join the WI Committee, put themselves forward as President, and shape how their WI moves forward.
