2021 meeting scrapbook

January - July 2021Due to restrictions we have not been able to hold in-person meetings however, we have continued with our regular Zoom catch-ups, virtual afternoon teas and our committee have delivered some wonderful smile packages every month to all our members.

June 2021: We were delighted that so many of our members worked hard crafting, creating and installing a wonderful Yarn Bomb display in Ely to celebrate the 100 years of the Isle of Ely Federation

July 2021As restrictions started to ease our members spent a lovely warm evening at the City of Ely Bowls Club.  Was lovely to have an introduction to the game and to meet in-person for the first time in months.

September 2021We were pleased to welcome 8 visitors to our meeting this month, there was a lot to catch up on after an 18 month break from formalities and the future looks very busy, with a lot of craft events coming up.

Members were reminded of the My WI website and encouraged to take advantage of it.

Although it was primarily a social evening,  members also had a go at making macrame keyrings, and enjoyed the chance to meet up together again as a group.

November 2021

It was great to see all our ladies at our November meeting. We were delighted to extend a warm welcome to four new members.

Our speaker for the evening was Michelle from the Guide Dogs for the Blind. Who introduced us to Blaze a retired guide dog. It was a really interesting talk, and it was good to hear more about the life of a guide dog and the wonderful work they do.

We then held our AGM and Secretary, Treasurer and Presidents reports were read and approved.

Sarah Mascall who has been our President for the last 6 years sadly resigned and everyone thanked her for her dedication in the role. She has done a great job leading us through various WI initiatives and events. We wish her well.

A vote for our President was held and Sheila Willson a long running member of the WI and our current Treasurer was appointed.

Congratulations to Sheila and we look forward to you leading us in the coming year.

December 2021Great to see lots of our lovely ladies for our December meeting. We welcomed a visitor, and a new member, and everyone enjoyed a socially distanced meeting creating present labels, and attempting Christmas quizzes.

The Leisure Group read a Christmas Story, cards were exchanged and everyone went home with a "party bag".

A card and flowers were presented to Sarah, with thanks for her time as President.
