2022 meeting scrapbook
January 2022 - What a great start to the year welcoming so many of our lovely members to our January meeting. A big welcome to Monique who became a new member this evening. Thank you to all the ladies that took part in our green heart challenge. We are looking forward to sharing the images once it is installed.
We enjoyed an update on business including details of our next 'big project'.
We had our usual raffle and a bring and buy stall. Then we took part in some games including a round of bingo, three words and the generation game !
We were delighted to present some vouchers to Sarah in recognition of her work and dedication to her role as President over the last 6 years.
February 2022 - Our members got together for a Valentines themed meeting on 14th February. Celebrating all things friendship, the group got stuck in with a ‘speed greeting’ session to find out all about everyone and their hobbies and interests.
There was a real buzz in the room and everyone got involved and had a great time; all sorts of interesting and engaging conversations took place.
Everyone said how much they had enjoyed the session and it was rounded off with a thank you from the committee and some reflection on how self-love is also just as important.
Despite restrictions over the past two years; many of our members have been on some very important personal journeys and that we are grateful to have each exceptional individual as a part of our WI.
March 2022 - A great meeting as always with our Ely City WI ladies.
We were pleased to extend a warm welcome to two visitors Helen and Susie.
Our speakers this month were Marie and Monica from Inheritance Legal Services who gave an interesting talk on all things wills, power of attorney, probate etc with the opportunity to ask questions.
We then had some social time and refreshments followed by a jubilee flower making demo from our members Helen and Margaret.
We have some skilled crafters within our group and it was great to learn a new skill.
April 2022 - What a brilliant meeting tonight with 30 ladies in attendance. We were delighted to welcome Ann tonight who also joined as a member.
We were also joined by Beryl Brooks, our Federation Chairman who was asked to present several membership certificates.
Amongst those were one for Yvonne and Patricia who had both been members for 35 years and have served on the Ely City Committee as President, Treasurer and Secretary during that time. We were delighted to present to them cards, flowers and a beautiful cake each.
During the evening we enjoyed a craft workshop by Ruth and we were all able to make our very own gelatine flower posies.

June 2022: All about the flowers
Our meeting tonight featured a brilliant demonstration by Ann Purt. Ann showed us how to put together some beautiful arrangements using greenery from the garden and some selected flowers. She showed us some tips and ideas and I am sure our ladies will now have a go at their own arrangements.
Ann is a freelance florist, who previously taught floristry at the Isle College Wisbech and a member of Wisbech Flower Club, associated to NAFAS and a member of the Ely Cathedral Glower Guilds. She is also an examiner and external verifier for City & Guilds.
Her arrangements were raffled off during the evening and the winners were delighted to take home these wonderful displays.
We were also delighted to welcome two visitors. The group were given a big thank you for their wonderful, creative contributions to the Jubilee display around Ely.
July 2022:
A great meeting this evening. We were delighted to welcome three new members Kerry, Becky and Elizabeth. Plus two visitors Karen and Lesley who we hope will join our group in September.
We were treated to a fabulous entertaining talk by Rosemary Wheeler who gave us 'Hats Galore'. Such an interesting animated talk on the history of hats and how they have played an important part in her life.
Followed by coffee, chat and chocolates.
Then an entertaining and fun report from Ann Waterman who was our delegate at the Annual Meeting in Liverpool. Ann thoroughly enjoyed her time and recommended that if you have the opportunity then do attend.
